Meet Lauren-Elle: Fineline & Dotwork
Today we’re catching up with Lauren-Elle, a tattoo artist based in Kettering, Northamptonshire, working her magic at @thescribbleshed. She’s been tattooing for two years and loves everything that involves dotwork, mandalas, flowers, and ornamental designs, but she’s also drawn to the dark side with horror and cyber sigilism themes.
When she’s not tattooing, you’ll probably find her reading, drawing, or spending time with her six beautiful cats (yes, six!). We left a little surprise at the end <3
“...tattooing is truly a 24/7 job, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
We asked Lauren, “At what point did you realize that tattooing goes far beyond just creating designs?”
She shared with us that before she started tattooing full-time, she didn’t realize just how much work happens behind the scenes.
“It wasn’t until I began taking my own bookings that I realised how the job truly is 24/7! Whether it’s replying to messages or posting on social media, I’m usually glued to my phone, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
For her, tattooing isn’t just a job, it’s something that gives her the freedom to be creative every single day.
“As someone who is neurodivergent, being creative is such an important part of who I am. It often doesn’t even feel like going to work at all.”
We completely understand, Lauren! The truth is, being a tattoo artist is definitely a multitasking job… and it’s incredible!
Rituals & Habits
Of course, we couldn’t miss the chance to ask Lauren a bit more about her rituals and what makes her setup special. Let’s see what she shared with us:
“I really stick to the same products because I’ve found so many amazing ones that I just can’t go back from!”
What can’t be missed from Lauren’s setup? Aww, this is so cute, look at this:
“One small thing I love to do is make sure I have really funky ink cups.”
Lauren, we have to agree, we also love those fun little details that make the tattoo world so unique! And we can’t help but mention that Heart Cups really add a special touch to any session; plus, they’re made from silicone, so they won’t damage your needles.
"..Proton Stencil Remover works magic"
Lauren also shared one of her recent discoveries that completely changed her sessions: the Proton Stencil Remover.
“I’ve tested a few different products, and this one smells amazing and works magic! It’s key for me to make sure my client is 100% happy with their stencil placement, and this allows me to move it as many times as needed.”
It’s great to see how technology keeps helping tattoo artists improve their workflow and client experience. This remover is such a friendly helper during long sessions!
Until Next Friday
Lauren, thank you so much for being part of our team of sponsored artists. It was great chatting with you, as always! It’s always lovely to get to know a bit more about your journey and your little rituals that make each session so special.
Every Friday, we’ll bring an artist's story right here on our blog. Today, we had the pleasure of featuring Lauren, and you can find her work at @_tattoosbylaurenelle.
If you’d like to share your own experience as an artist, send us a message at @tattooboutiqueuk — we’d love to hear from you!
