Stencil products can react differently on fake skin than they do on natural skin. Always test your method on a small area first.

Step 1: Clean the surface

Wipe the fake skin with mild soap and water or a suitable surface cleanser to remove dust, oils or residue. Dry it completely before applying the stencil.

Step 2: Apply stencil transfer solution

Apply a very thin, even layer of stencil transfer gel or stencil application solution. Avoid using too much product, as excess moisture may blur the stencil.

Step 3: Let it become slightly tacky

Wait briefly until the surface feels slightly tacky rather than wet. This helps the stencil transfer more clearly.

Step 4: Position the stencil

Place the stencil carefully onto the practice skin without sliding it around. Press evenly for a few seconds.

Step 5: Remove carefully

Slowly lift the stencil paper from one side. Avoid rubbing or repositioning once the design has transferred.

Step 6: Allow the stencil to dry

Let the stencil dry fully before tattooing. For a stronger transfer, allow it to set for longer before starting your practice.

Start with simple drills

Practise straight lines, circles, curves, dots and small shapes before moving onto more detailed designs.

Control your depth

Use the practice skin to develop consistent needle depth and smoother machine movement.

Test different hand speeds

Try different voltage settings and hand speeds to understand how your machine responds.

Wipe gently

Fake skin can hold stencil differently from natural skin, so wipe carefully to avoid removing the stencil too early.

Use both sides

Once one side has been used, turn the sheet over and practise on the other side.
